BJP candidate for Chandigarh Lok Sabha constituency Mr Satya Pal Jain has demanded a thorough high level enquiry in to the causes of Thursdays fire in two Sector 22 showrooms and asked the administration to take immediate steps to ensure that such incidents do not happen in future.
Mr Jain, who visited the scene of fire on Thursday night and again on Friday morning to console the families of the victims, demanded compensation of Rs five lakh each for the families of the deceased. He said many of these were in the prime of their youth.
According to Mr Kailash Jain Convenor of the Traders Cell of Chandigarh BJP in a statement has condoled the death of young shop workers and their families. The padyatra being organized by the Traders cell was suspended for the day due to the tragedy.
