No More Village Land Will Be Acquired Forcefully: Jain

BJP Candidate from Chandigarh Parliamentary constituency Mr Satya Pal Jain today said the Congress party has not done anything for the villages of the Union Territory of Chandigarh and has actually hurt their interests by doling out false promises. Calling Congress an anti-village and anti-people party, Mr Jain said on coming to power at the centre BJP will ensure that no more village land is acquired forcefully, village laldora will be extended and houses built on own land outside laldora will be regularised.
Recalling that nine panchayats have been abolished in the Union territory of Chandigarh during the congress rule Mr Jain assured that BJP would not dissolve any panchayats. He promised that BJP would strengthen the panchayat system to ensure good governance in the villages. Addressing people during his padyatra of village Behlana Mr Jain said during its five year rule the congress party MP of Chandigarh has not fulfilled any of his promises and has betrayed every section of people.
In the afternoon Mr Jain performed padyatra in Markets of Sector 15 and Panjab University campus and listend to the problems of the shopkeepers and shoppers. He flagged off a Cycle Rally from the party office (KAMLAM), Sector 33-A. He also addressed several public meetings and attended small meeting to interact with the people about issues of their concern. Mr Jain said Congress party has been showing letters from the union government suggesting crores of rupees will be paid to farmers as compensation for every acre of acquired land but in actual practice farmer has got no more then 10–12 lakh rupees per acre. This, Mr Jain said, is designed to befool people to get their votes. Mr Jain said people have seen that congress has failed on all fronts and due to infighting for full five years and congress party’s game and will surely teach it a lesson.

CHANDIGARH: The central parliamentary board of Janata Party has decided to extend full support to BJP candidate Satya Pal Jain for the ChandigarhLok Sabha seat.
Janata Party president Subamanian Swami conveyed this in a message read by Ajay Jagga, president, Janata Party, Chandigarh, at a joint press conference with Jain here. Jagga said in the city, the Congress had failed to deliver on all its promises, ‘lal dora’ extension, land acquisition, planning of the city. All these issues showed neglect on the part of the Congress. Jain, in his interaction with mediapersons, said instead of joining BJP’s prime ministerial candidate LK Advani in a debate, the Congress was trying to evade the major issues and objecting to Manmohan Singh being termed as the weakest PM as denigration of the office of the prime minister while its own leaders are projecting Rahul Gandhi as the hope of India and denigrating the office of the PM everyday.

This has been stated by the President of Janata Party Dr Subamanian Swami read by the Mr Ajay Jagga, President, Janata Party, Chandigarh, in a joint press conference with Mr Satya Pal Jain here. Mr Jagga said in Chandigarh Congressparty has failed to deliver on all its promises, Laldora extension, land acquisition, planning the city ? all these issues show neglect on the part of Congress party.
Mr Satya Pal Jain in his interaction with media persons on this occasion said instead of joining BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Mr LK Advani in a debate the Congress party is trying to evade the major issues and objecting to Dr Manmohan Singh being termed as the weakest PM as denigration of the office of the Prime Minister while its own leaders are projecting Mr Rahul Gandhi as the hope of India and denigrating the office of the Prime Minister everyday. Mr Jain said the comments by Congress leaders denying any information about the quantum of Indian funds lying in foreign banks show their complicity. He said this money must be brought back to India, on coming to power in the centre BJP will ensure that this money is brought back to India and used for development of the nation.
Mr Jain put the Congress party and the union government on the mat by saying that the government is claiming fall in inflation while the prices continue to rise. This he said is a clear signal that the government has failed to reign in prices. He reiterated that development of Chandigarh has been stalled because of continuing battle of egos between the Chandigarh Administrator and Congress MP who is also a minister in the centre and between leaders of various factions of Congress party. Mr Jain questioned the commitment of Congress MP representing Chandigarh to the city and asked is he not aware that funds to the tune of hundreds of crores have been kept as fixed deposits by Municipal Corporation controlled by his party and Chandigarh housing board.
Mr Ajay Jagga said that the Congress MP representing Chandigarh has not been able to deliver on any of the promises he made during the last elections. The Congress lead UPA government has not done anything for the city. Mr Jagga regretted the failure of Finance Ministry to control prices as prices of suger have gone up by 47percent in the last one year and of onions by 111 percent.

Anti people policies of Congress responsible for Auto-strike, peoples harassment: Jain

S.P.Pandey,Chandigarh, April 16 : BJP candidate for Chandigarh Lok Sabha Constituency Mr Satya Pal Jain today held Congress leaders including the local MP responsible for the ongoing auto-rickshaw strike in Chandigarh Panchkula Mohali and said those who talk of development have neglected the need of good transport policies in the tri-city. He said the anti people policies of the Congress party and Congress leadership are responsible for the ongoing auto strike which has caused a great deal of harassment to the people, especially the school going children and office-goers.
During his padyatras in Maloya and Sector 20 Mr Jain assured people that on coming to power in the centre BJP will ensure that CTU runs environment friendly LPG fuelled buses in the Union territory and tri-city areas. He repeated his commitment to address the long term local transport needs of Chandigarh by providing for Metro, flyovers and underpasses for smooth flow of traffic and more parking facilities for the large and growing number of vehicles in the city.
He said Congress party and its leadership has been a failure on every front during its five years rule at the centre. Referring to the problems faced by Chandigarh Mr Jain said all promises of Congress party candidate during the last Lok Sabha elections remain unfulfilled. Whether it is the Balanced Rent act, or ownership of type 13 houses to occupants, or proper compensation for land to the farmers, or identity cards to footpath workers, or regularisation of houses outside laldora, or regularisation of need based internal changes in the housing board houses, or provision of affordable houses to middle and lower classes in the city or solving problems of rehabilitation colonies ? the Congress MP has not been able to solve any problem.

Promises made by Cong remain unfulfilled: Jain

“The promises made by the Congress during the last elections remain unfulfilled,” said Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections Satya Pal Jain while addressing a gathering at the party office on Saturday.
He argued that houses built by the Housing Board are priced beyond the reach of the common man while farmers are being paid a pittance for their land.
Jain assured that if voted to power, the BJP will ensure that farmers are given compensation for their land at the rates paid by the Punjab government.
Jain also led padyatras in Sectors 23 and 40 and addressed public meetings in Manimajra Motor Market, Sector 29 and Burail village. He, later, inaugurated an election office of the BJP in Maloya colony market.
Meanwhile, two district secretaries of Urban (1) unit of Congress — Sukhbir Das and Naveen Sharma — also joined the BJP along with their supporters.

Thursday, 09 April 2009: CHANDIGARH: Bhartiya Janta Party candidate for Chandigarh Parliamentary constituency Satya Pal Jain today criticised the proposal to impose house tax in Chandigarh on the advice of Finance Commission in spite of the fact that Chandigarh Municipal Council has 500 crore rupees in its bank account.
Addressing a press conference here he regretted the fact that Chandigarh Housing Board has a cash balance of Rs 300 crore and Chandigarh MC has Rs 500 crore as fixed deposits in its bank accounts but these funds are not being used for development of Chandigarh. ...
Public funds come from the hard labour of common man and should have been used for development of Chandigarh. The money kept in banks is losing value due to inflation and recession while it should have been used for development of the city. ...
He opposed the proposal to levy another tax in Chandigarh and said on coming to power BJP will not levy any tax on residential buildings. He said Chandigarh does not get any share in the taxes collected in the city while state governments get a fixed share in the taxes collected in their territories as such there is no justification for any new taxes in Chandigarh. ...
He said people of Chandigarh face many problems relating to roads, power and water. In the last ten years no new plan for expansion of railway station or flyover etc has been approved for Chandigarh, in fact even the existing facilities have been reduced. ...

Centre's rpted direction on land acquisition 'pol stunt': BJP

Chandigarh , Apr 9 BJP today termed the Centre's reported direction asking the Union Territory administration to put on hold further land acquisitions without its approval as a"mere political stunt".
"The Administration has been barred from acquiring land for any further project without approval of the Union Home Ministry. This direction at the time of Lok Sabha polls is a mere political stunt,"senior BJP leader and party candidate from this parliamentary constituency Satya Pal Jain told reporters here.
He alleged that the Congress wanted to take credit for the the"Centre's direction on land acquisition".
"But the people will not be misled as earlier vast chunk of land has been acquired and people have been given meagre compensation for this. If NDA comes to power at the Centre after the elections, we will ensure that people get the prevailing rates of Rs 1.5 crore per acre of land,"he said.
He alleged that the Centre earns Rs 1,200 crore as tax share from the UT, but in return the city gets virtually nothing.

BJP Promises One Additional Floor to All Residential and Commercial Structures

S.P.PANDEY :Chandigarh March 26 : BJP candidate for Chandigarh Lok Sabha Constituency Mr Satya Pal Jain today promised that on coming to power in Centre his party will allow construction of one additional floor in all residential and commercial structures including Bay-shops and booths etc. This has become necessary as population of the city has increased at a very fast rate and housing has not kept pace with the requirements of the population.
... Mr Jain promised that on coming to power BJP will draw up a 10-year plan for the growth of the city. ...
... He assured that the additional floor will not disturb the character of the city nor endanger basic structure of the city planned by Le Corbusier. He said the city has enough resilience to take such changes. Mr Jain pointed out that several buildings in various sectors of the city – including those raised by Chandigarh Housing Board – already have four stories. Proper guidelines will be framed by an experts committee to ensure that safety and other requirements are met.

Mr Jain said on coming to power BJP will address the requirement of parking space for the present and additional population of the city, multi-story and underground parking facilities will be created for this purpose after a proper study. He admitted that parking is already a problem in the city and the additional floor will add to the problem. That is why BJP is pleading for a comprehensive housing policy. This policy will address the additional floor in residential and commercial structures as also the provision of parking facility – multi story or underground – where possible.
Mr Jain said compensation for land acquired by Chandigarh Administration was way below that given by neighboring Punjab and Haryana. On coming to power BJP will ensure that Chandigarh pays compensation not less then being paid in Punjab.

Central government betraying interests of farmers, says Satya Pal Jain

NDA's candidate from the city for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections Satya Pal Jain, accused the Congress-led UPA government for betraying the interests of farmers and villagers of the city through its five year term.
Addressing a public meeting at Khudda Alisher village today, Jain said while neighbouring Punjab has been paying upto Rs 1.5 crore per acre for land acquired for public purpose, Chandigarh villages have been suffering at the hands of the UPA government which has been doling out a mere Rs 10 to 18 lakh per acre to land owners in the UT.
Accusing the Union government of favouring the coloniser-builder class at the cost of the farmer villager, Jain said on coming to power, the NDA will give compensation for land in UT on a par with that being given by Punjab.
He added that the party will extend the lal dora limits of villages in the UT and will regularise construction in areas outside the lal dora limits, as against the ruling party. ...

BJP honours new panches

25 Jan 2009, CHANDIGARH: Bharatiya Janata Party's regional unit leader Satya Pal Jain honoured five recently-elected sarpanches and 72 panches through presenting them with shawls at a function in an Industrial Area hotel on Saturday.
The panches hailed from 13 villages. Punjab cooperation minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh and Morinda MLA Ujagar Singh Badali were also present on the occasion.
Capt Kanwaljit Singh said the state's BJP-SAD government was giving Rs 1.5 crore per acre as compensation to farmers whose land had been acquired.

Jan 24, चंडीगढ- पंजाब के सहकारिता मंत्री कैप्टन कंवलजीत सिंह ने शनिवार को यहां चंडीगढ़ के पंच-सरपंचों से कहा कि इस बार वे लोकसभा चुनावों में शहर से भाजपा प्रत्याशी सत्यपाल जैन को जिताएं तो यहां के किसानों को पंजाब से अधिक जमीन का मुआवजा मिलेगा।
कै.कंवलजीत आज यहां भाजपा द्वारा आयोजित सरपंचों के सम्मान समारोह में बोल रहे थे।
बकौल कै. कंवलजीत सिंह प्रदेश में सरकार किसानों को जमीन का मुआवजा डेढ़ करोड़ रुपये प्रति एकड़ दे रही है, जबकि चंडीगढ़ में कांग्रेस का सांसद व केंद्रीय मंत्री के होते यहां के किसानों को मुआवजा न के बराबर मिल रहा है।
इस अवसर पर चंडीगढ़ से भाजपा प्रत्याशी सत्यपाल जैन ने कहा कि जिस व्यक्ति को यहां की जनता ने 15 साल का समय दिया हो और वह आज भी वायदे ही कर रहा हो और काम कोई ना करता हो वह जनता से वोट मांगने का हक खो चुका है।
यदि मुझे जनता ने मौका दिया तो हम दिखा देंगे अधिकारियों से कैसे काम लिए जाते हैं। उन्होंने 13 गांवों के चुने 5 सरपंचों व 72 पंचों को शाल भेंट कर सम्मानित किया और सभी सरपंचों ने जैन को भरोसा दिलाया कि चुनाव में पार्टी का प्रचार कर उन्हें विजयश्री दिलाएंगे। समारोह को पार्टी अध्यक्ष कमला शर्मा ने भी संबोधित किया।

Hold advisory panel meeting: Jain

Chandigarh, September 11: Former Chandigarh MP Satya Pal Jain has demanded the immediate holding of meeting of the home minister's advisory committee to discuss certain issues concerning the city.
Addressing mediapersons here yesterday, Jain regretted that during the past three years neither the meeting had been held nor the union home minister visited the city to hold talks with peoples' representatives and eminent citizens.
Amendments to building byelaws, pollution, forcible acquisition of farmers' land, slum rehabilitation and law and order were important pending issues which needed to be addressed by the committee, he said.

CHANDIGARH, Dec 17 — The local MP, Mr Satya Pal Jain, has urged the UT Administration to take a decision about acquisition of land and payment of compensation to land owners at the earliest. Mr Jain had taken up this issue at a meeting with the Administrator, Lieut-Gen BKN Chhibber (retd), and his Adviser, Mr Jagdish Sagar, a few days ago.
In a statement issued here today, Mr Jain said he was told by officials that land prices had witnessed an abnormal hike during the past few years but the benefit of this escalation was not being passed on the farmers whose land was being acquired.
Mr Jain also discussed various problems being faced by villagers of the union territory and demanded immediate elections to gram panchayats, panchayat samiti and zila parishad.
