CHANDIGARH, Apr 16: The Chandigarh Unit of Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) organised a Zonal Youth Convention which was attended by various activities of the community beside PKM functionaries.
The one-day convention was presided over by Sat Pal Jain, Ex-MP. The chief guest on the occasion was Swami Keshwanand Ji of Brahmrishi Mission Ashram, Virat Nagar, Pinjore.
The convention highlighted the socio-cultural problems of the community through an Agenda Paper presented by Kuldeep Koul, co-ordinator of the convention. The paper makes an appeal to the community youths to come forward to protect, preserve and promote community cultural traditions and compactness. It warned against the ethnic dilution of the community and suggested various options for the community ensuring its socio-cultural base.
Swami Keshwanand Ji in his address asked the youth to take steps to unite the rank and file of the community and organise more such programmes in future to inculcate the community feeling in the larger sections of the society.
In his welcome address Mr B L Sadhu, emphasised the need for the youths to bring a change in their outlook and come forth willingly to accept the challenges that we face in our exile.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) in his concluding remarks said that the Kashmiri Pandits after a decade of exile have manifold challenges to face to survive as a community.
