GANGTOK, JUNE 12: The BJP on Monday said it would oppose the Office of Profit Bill in Parliament if the Congress led UPA government tried to pass it again.
BJP Legal and Legislative Business Cell national convenor Satyapal Jain told reporters they would oppose the Bill in Parliament as it did not want the MPs and MLAs be given any office of profit except in offices linked with the functioning of Parliament.
Recently, president A P J Abdul Kalam had returned the Bill for reconsideration.
Jain said the UPA government had passed the Bill to save some of its MPs from disqualification. ...
