GANGTOK, JUNE 13: BJP would oppose the UPA-sponsored bill on Office of Profit in Parliament if the ruling alliance sought to return it to the President in its present form for his assent, the party's National Convenor of Legal and Legislative Business cell Satyapal Jain said in Gangtok on Monday.
Calling the bill unconstitutional at a press conference here, Jain said by returning the bill to the Cabinet the "President had dealt a blow to the Congress-led coalition which stood exposed over the issue".
He said if the bill was returned to the President without any modifications and got his assent then the BJP will go to court over the matter.
"The intentions behind a bill like this are too obviously dishonest to be overlooked and the BJP is determined to oppose it at all levels," he said.
