Sushma's poll campaign in city advanced

3 May 2004, CHANDIGARH: BJP leader and Union minister Sushma Swaraj campaign programme in the city has been advanced to Tuesday instead of Wednesday, according to a party press release here.
Sushma will be addressing a rally in Nehru Park in Sector 22.
The BJP will also organise a Vishal rally on the day in which villagers from around the city will participate. The rally will be flagged off at 10 a.m. by the BJP unit president Yash Pal Mahajan, the release said.
Meanwhile, the BJP got a shot in its arm when about 500 Muslims from Colony no. 5 on Sunday visited the party office in Sector 33-A and joined the party.
The Muslim members also decided to support the BJP candidate Satya Pal Jain in the elections and ensure his victory, the release added.
A large number of Mahila Congress workers from Bapu Dham colony too joined the BJP in the presence of Jain's wife Sashi Bala on Saturday evening, the release said. On Sunday alone, Jain undertook three padyatras in Maloya village and Sector 56. A delegation of JVG Investors Group visited the BJP office and met Jain. They also informed Jain about the cheating done by the JVG Investment Company. Jain assured them that their problems with the company would be solved soon after the elections.
At a congregation of Sikhs in six gurdwaras of the city, Jain was presented with siropas. The Sikh voters at these meetings assured their support to Jain, the release added.
The gathering also announced that the Congress was the Sikh community's first enemy. Jain also addressed 10 rallies at Kishangarh, Darua, Mauli Jagran, Sanjay Labour Colony, Industrial Area Phase I, Makhan Majra, Raipur Khurd, Hallo Majra and Ram Darbar.
