Sushma to campaign in the city

1 May 2004, CHANDIGARH: BJP leader and Union Minister Sushma Swaraj will be addressing a rally in the city in favour of party candidate Satya Pal Jain on May 5.
This comes close on the heels of Congress announcing its president Sonia Gandhi's rally plans for the city.
The BJP has been projecting Sushma as the rival of Sonia and she had contested against the latter in Bellary, Karnataka, in the 1999 Lok Sabha polls, but had lost the elections.
The local unit of the BJP is preparing itself for the Sushma rally and is expected announce the venue and the time of the rally in a couple days.
On Friday, Jain participated in a series of four padyatras in Kishangarh, Sector 22, 47 and 31 Market. He also addressed several rallies community centre in Manimajra, Sector 19, 22, 39, 56 and villages Butrela and Maloya.
Jain announced that he would work for formulating uniform cable TV rates prevent residents from being fleeced by the cable TV operators.
He also said the civic problems facing the residents of cooperative society build-ings would be solved on a priority basis.
