Feb 07, 2010, Chandigarh: The city unit of Bharatiya Janata Party held a demonstration at the roundabout of Sector 7-8-18-19 on Saturday. Hundreds of party workers and leaders gathered and raised slogans against the increasing prices of essential commodities.
... Party workers tied black bands as a mark of protest and wore garlands of vegetables. Senior leaders of the party, while addressing the gathering, lambasted the Congress-led UPA government on its failure to control the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities.

Former MP Satya Pal Jain said the essential coordination required between different departments of the government appears to be lacking. “This is a time for action since the inflationary trends have caused enormous misery to the common man and the government is not taking any positive step to check the problem,” he said.
