Chandigarh | Monday, Mar 9 2009, BJP candidate for Chandigarh Parliamentary constituency Satya Pal Jain today promised full support to demands of the Joint Action Committee of Punjab UT employees in their pursuit of getting the fifth Punjab Pay commission report implemented at the earliest.
Addressing a gathering of employees here, Mr Jain told them that he and his party had persuaded Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal to take a cabinet decision to accept the recommendations of fifth Punjab Pay commission, with effect from January 2006 in principle, just minutes before the announcement of election schedule by the Election Commission of India and coming into effect of the model code of conduct. Mr Jain explained how this Cabinet decision will mean that the recommendations of the pay commission will be implemented as soon as these are handed over to the state government. Mr Jain lambasted the UPA government for its insensitive role in respect of the suffering of poor man due to high prices and inflation and promised to stand by the commonman. ...
