CHANDIGARH: All the major political parties have started holding ward meetings in the run-up to parliamentary elections, to be held in Chandigarh on May 13. The BJP, it is learned, has almost finalized its manifesto, which will be released within a week.
Satya Pal Jain, senior BJP leader who is party's candidate from the city, said, " Though a plan of the party's election campaign is yet to be chalked out, presently we are organizing corner and group meetings with public to tell them how the present government cheated them and how the UPA completely failed in its five-year tenure as it did nothing for the common man''...
... However, Bharatiya Janta Party has completed its manifesto. A special committee of the party, led by its chairperson Ranjana Sahi, has compiled the party's election manifesto, which will be released on Friday. Though senior party leaders refused to divulge details, sources of the BJP confirmed that apart from local, several national issues have been added in it.
