Gujarat sting will have no impact in Himachal: BJP [Link 2]

SHIMLA: The Bharatiya Janata Party has declared that the recent media expose of Gujarat riots and role of Narendra Modi will not have any impact on the coming elections in Himachal Pradesh.

   While addressing a press conference here over the weekend, in charge of BJP national legal cell Satpal Jain has said that Congress party should not forget its own role in the 1984 riots in Delhi and other parts of the country. Every State has its own politics and there would be a negligible response to such biased reports in Himachal, said Mr. Jain, who is also monitoring the BJP election management in Himachal Pradesh.

   Mr. Jain who will address various front organisations of the party said BJP will come out with its manifesto in few days.

   He said the programme of various national leaders coming for campaign in the hill State has also been finalised. The party will organise 350 public meetings before the elections at all levels and there would be a huge youth rally in Mandi on Nov. 18.

New Delhi, October 23, 2007: In the BJP's bid to prevent factionalism marring its chances of wresting power from the Congress in the Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh on November 14 and December 19, the party said on Monday that it would name its chief minister only after the results are declared.

October 21, 2007 चंडीगढ़. पूर्व मेयर कमला शर्मा को भारतीय जनता पार्टी की चंडीगढ़ यूनिट का नया अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है। कमला शर्मा शहर की पहली मेयर भी रह चुकी हैं। वे रविवार को दोपहर 1.00 बजे पार्टी ऑफिस में चार्ज संभालेंगी।

     चंडीगढ़ में वर्ष 1996 में नगर निगम का गठन किया गया था। कमला शर्मा को वर्ष 1996-97 की टर्म में मेयर बनने का मौका मिला था। भाजपा के कुछ दिन पहले हुए राष्ट्रीय अधिवेशन में 33 परसेंट सीटें महिलाओं के लिए रिजर्व करने का फैसला लिया गया था।

     कमला शर्मा को चंडीगढ़ भाजपा का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त कर पार्टी ने अपना वायदा पूरा किया है। इसके अलावा पदाधिकारियों में एक अन्य महिला को भी शामिल किया गया है। हीरा नेगी को चंडीगढ़ भाजपा का सेक्रेट्री नियुक्त किया गया है।

     बीजेपी के आल इंडिया सेक्रेट्री और पंजाब व चंडीगढ़ यूनिट के इंचार्ज बलबीर पुंज, सह-प्रभारीकिरण घई ने आज चंडीगढ़ आकर पार्टी के पदाधिकारियों की घोषणा की। यह नियुक्तियां वर्ष 2007-10 के लिए की गई है। पिछले कई दिनों से चंडीगढ़ बीजेपी के नए अध्यक्ष की नियुक्ति का बेसब्री से इंतजार किया जा रहा था।

     बीजेपी के पूर्व अध्यक्ष धर्मपाल गुप्ता ने हाईकमान के इस फैसले का स्वागत किया है। उनका कहना है कि पार्टी के सभी कार्यकर्ताओं को हाईकमान के इस फैसले का स्वागत करते हुए एकजुट होकर आगामी लोकसभा चुनावों की तैयारियों में जुटना चाहिए।

PALAMPUR, 19 Oct 2007: Mr. Sat Pal Jain, senior BJP leader and in-charge H.P. state BJP affairs, today categorically stated that BJP would not announce the name of Chief Ministerial candidate for H.P. Pradesh before the completion of assembly elections in the state. NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 18 Having resolved to play the incumbency card against the ruling Congress, the BJP is set to focus on "change" to mobilise support for itself in the ensuing Assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh.

     "Our slogan is: Halaat badal do, sarkar badal do (Change the situation, change the Government)," Satyapal Jain, central BJP in-charge of the state, told The Indian Express on Thursday. Jain said there is a mass disenchantment over Congress' failure to fulfill its promises made before last Assembly polls and "one can feel a mood for change all over Himachal". The Congress, according to him, has been unable to check price-rise and provide employment to people. Besides, there are allegations of corruption against the Congress regime, he said.      भाजपा के हिमाचल मामलों के प्रभारी सतपाल जैन ने आज यहां यूनीवार्ता को बताया कि पार्टी की केन्द्रीय चुनाव समिति की अगले सप्ताह नयी दिल्ली में बैठक होगी जिसमें राज्य के तीन जनजातीय क्षेत्रों भरमौर . लाहुल स्पीति और किन्नौर के उम्मीदवारों के चयन पर निर्णय लिया जायेगा।

     पूर्व पशुपालन मंत्री राम ए माक डे के लाहुल स्पीति विधानसभा क्षेत्र से चुनाव लडने का चार भाजपा नेताआों के विरोध किये जाने के सम्बन्ध में पूछे जाने पर उन्होंने कहा कि पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता उनसे लगातार संपर्क में हैं और इस मामले को जल्द ही सुला लिया जायेगा।

SHIMLA: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday demanded immediate imposition of President's Rule in Himachal Pradesh to ensure free and fair elections.

   Addressing a press conference here, senior BJP leader Satpal Jain, who is in charge of the party's affairs in Himachal Pradesh, welcomed the Election Commission's announcement of Wednesday about early elections in the hill State.

   Mr. Jain said the BJP in Himachal Pradesh was completely united and thoroughly prepared for the coming polls. He appealed to senior bureaucrats and government functionaries not to succumb to any pressure from any quarter and help in a just and fair conduct of the upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls. The State is scheduled to go to polls in two phases on November 14 and December 19. "Corruption, price rise, unemployment and failure of the Congress-led government in the State on all fronts would be the main election issues this time," he said. ...

शिमला (एजेंसी)। हिमाचल प्रदेश में विपक्षी भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) ने विधानसभा को तुरन्त भंग कर राष्ट्रपति शासन के तहत राज्य में �'निष्पक्ष'� चुनाव कराने की मांग की है। प्रदेश में नवम्बर और दिसम्बर में दो चरणोें में चुनाव निर्धारित होने हैं। हिमाचल प्रदेश में भाजपा के प्रभारी सत्यपाल जैन ने बताया �"�किसी भी परिस्थिति में विधानसभा अगले दो महीनों में भंग हो जाएगी। यह बेहतर होगा कि विधान सभा को तत्काल भंग कर दिया जाए तथा राष्ट्रपति शासन के अन्तर्गत निष्पक्ष चुनाव सम्पन्न कराया जाए।"��

     श्री जैन ने यघपि कहा कि वह ऐसा चाहते हैं कि लेकिन यह उनकी पार्टी की �'शर्त'� नहीं है। प्रदेश में नेतृत्व के सवाल पर जैन ने कहा कि इस मामले पर पार्टी में भ्रम की कोई स्थिति नहीं है। सही समय पर पार्टी स्वयं इस आशय का निर्णय लेगी। प्रदेश में दो चरणों में होने वाले विधानसभा चुनाव में पार्टी सभी 68 सीटों पर पार्टी अकेले चुनाव लड़ेगी।
