Chandigarh, July 16: In the wake of growing terrorism in various parts of the country, the BJP unit of Chandigarh, led by Rajya Sabha MP and All India General Secretary of BJP Vinay Katiyar, former MP and senior BJP leader Sat Pal Jain and Chandigarh BJP president Yash Pal Mahajan today staged a dharna and held a demonstration at the roundabout of Sector 7-8. ...
... The leaders said hundreds of innocent lives had been lost in the recent bomb blasts at Srinagar and Mumbai. In view of growing terrorism, the BJP had decided to observe a protest day on July 15-16 at national level and the BJP unit of Chandigarh were holding this demonstration under which all the state office bearers, state executive, presidents of Districts/Mandals/Morchas and thousands of BJP workers were participating.

He said, "The terrorism is growing due to the fact that UPA government is giving a latitude to the terrorists. The Vajpayee government proposed a law in the name and style of POTA to curb terrorism in the country and this POTA was abolished by the Congress party immediately after it came to power. This sort of latitude encouraged the terrorists." ...
