... BJP wants CBI Probe
Terming Congress a 'corrupt and confused party', the BJP has demanded a CBI probe of corruption charges against two Congress leaders—former Mayor Kamlesh and Market Committee chairman Bhupinder Singh Badheri. The party will organise a protest near Neelam Cinema on January 31 to press for the demands.
Talking to media here, former MP Satya Pal Jain asked Pawan Kumar Bansal to clarify his and his party's stand on the issue. "The MP used his influence to hush up corruption charges against former Deputy Mayor Balraj Singh and there is a fear that Bansal will again shield the two leaders," Jain alleged.
Urging UT administration to make reports of corruption inquiries public, Jain demanded registration of a case and an inquiry by the CBI to find whether the party used the money collected in the Lok Sabha elections. He also urged members of the Administrator's Advisory Council to raise the issue of corruption when it meets on January 31.
