Jain takes on Bansal over his statement

Says bureaucrats are not supposed to follow the Cong ideology

Chandigarh, November 26: FORMER MP Satya Pal Jain today defended Chandigarh Administration bureaucrats, saying they are not supposed to follow the ideology of the Congress. He was reacting to MP Pawan Kumar Bansal's statement that, he claimed, threatened Chandigarh Administration officers over their "independent functioning".
Addressing local media, Jain said executives and bureaucrats are there to protect the rights of the citizens and not to pursue Congress policy. "By threatening the bureaucrats, Bansal has violated the directions of PM Manmohan Singh," he said, demanding a clarification from All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi. Jain also alleged that Congress leaders were misleading people by issuing different statements on the property tax.
