BJP reconstitutes party cells

NEW DELHI, AUG. 8. The Bharatiya Janata Party today reconstituted various cells of the party, appointing new conveners and joint conveners. As many as 22 cells, including election, media and external affairs cells, were reconstituted, the party vice-president and spokesman, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, said here.
While Balbir Punj, Rajya Sabha member, will be the convener of the intellectual cell, R. Rama Krishna, former IAS officer, is in charge of the election cell.
Sudheendra Kulkarni, former aide of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will be the convener of the literature and publication cell while the cultural cell will be managed by D.P. Sinha, a former IAS officer, as convener, and film actor Suresh Oberoi as joint convener. The media cell will have two conveners — Sidharth Nath Singh and Nalin S. Kohli and the legal cell will be headed by Satpal Jain, former MP from Chandigarh, as convener and Amitab Sinha as joint convener.
The External Affairs cell will have S.K. Arora, a former Indian Foreign Service officer, as its convener and the economic cell will be headed by P.N. Vijay. The former Union Minister of State, Vijay Goel, has been named as convener of the sports cell with ace shooter Jaspal Rana as its joint convener.
